Kenji Chai is one of the most recognized internationally young graffiti artists in the country and as the ambassador for the Sunway REIT Clean Air Project, Kenji’s masterpiece depicts a sharp juxtaposition between a healthy, happy and non-polluted city blessed by clean air vis-à-vis a hazardous smoke polluted environment. The symbolic transformation of the pigeon symbolizes both nature and human will thrive in the clean air, reflecting the choices that mankind is given to either create a better environment or destroy the beautiful ecosystem.
Caryn Koh’s artworks are gentle, subtle and nonetheless deep and meaningful. Clean Air campaign has inspired her to create an image of a young girl enjoying sunflowers. The artist remembers how they would grow even taller than her in the garden in her childhood house. They were hard to take care of off, but so beautiful and majestic. Caryn’s artwork reminds us it is nice to smell flowers, not pollution and smog.
Louise Low is a full time artist and has created murals in Penang now featured in the art trail by Penang Global Tourism. Her work was featured by Petronas and she has been named one of the Top 10 Young Female Malaysian Artists. Her Clean Air installation that symbolises a broken mirror depicts a fragile and beautiful rose whose petals are gently floating in the air. The rose is reflective, so the viewer can see their own image when they look in the rose, and reflect on how we need to protect nature by keeping our air smoke free and clean.
